Long-time TV Journalist and Producer Jennifer Rumple lost 145 pounds on NBC's The Biggest Loser - Season 12 and earned the At Home Winner title. She battled a serious knee injury while on The Ranch, but was committed to changing her life as a morbidly obese woman and did not let that injury stop her! Jennifer weighed her heaviest at 365 pounds on her 39th birthday and suffered from what she calls reverse anorexia: liking who she was on the inside and ignoring the pounds piling on her body her entire adult life. Now 40 and 180 pounds lighter, Jennifer feels her new, healthy lifestyle and physical body finally match who she is on the inside. She's dedicated to inspiring the world to make smart choices about nutrition and fitness to live the most healthy, happy and amazing life possible.
Jennifer was born and raised with her older sister in Indianapolis, Indiana and started gaining weight when she was eight years old, eventually reaching 215 pounds after eighth grade. She lost 50 pounds before her freshman year of high school, but started gaining weight again after she graduated. Jennifer has overcome many challenges. She put herself through college working a full-time job and several part-time jobs while earning her journalism degree at Indiana University. She could not walk or use the right side of her body after a car accident in 1995 but overcame that as well. Now Jennifer has triumphed over obesity and enjoys shopping in regular stores, traveling on a plane without a seat belt extension, running with her dog, dancing, kite surfing, bike riding and just taking an active role in her own life.
Knowing the struggles of growing up overweight, Bernie Salazar (Biggest Loser Season 5 At Home Winner) is committed to helping combat the childhood obesity epidemic that is literally weighing down our nation's kids. Join him for a discussion about how his book Monstercise focuses on getting kids up and active by encouraging them to use their imagination. Bernie's goal is to provide children and their parents with information and motivation to live happy and healthy lives.
After a decade of eating his way to illness while his brother ran marathons, Bernie decided having a cupcake named after him would not go down as his greatest life accomplishment. He was fortunate enough to be chosen as a contestant for NBC's The Biggest Loser, where he took home the prize for most weight loss at home in the real world! Bernie shed an amazing 130 pounds. He attributes losing nearly 46% of his body weight to four personal principals: motivation, information, perspiration and most importantly, self-appreciation. Realizing that his experience on The Ranch saved his life, he is now dedicated to sharing his perspectives on wellness with others so we can all get healthy together. A children's book author and motivational speaker, Bernie encourages people to live healthy by having fun and playing more!
